Guest Instructors - We have the privilege of having many relief and guest instructors who enjoy working with our members on special occasions and in special classes. Please contact the studio if you care to join us as a guest instructor.

Safah

Safah, the lead instructor, received her certification in India, in classical Hatha Yoga. Safah's classes uniquely combine asana, pranayam, energy work and meditation with the aim of awakening prana within the body. Honouring her knowledge of spontaneous yoga, Safah intuitively incorporates elements that address the collective needs of each group.

Safah is also a certified Pranic Energy Healer and eternal student of Astrology. It is these elements that she most likes to incorporate into her teaching. She also offers both healing and astrological consultations in the Oceanside area.

Rob

Rob has been a "seeker of truth" for most of his life and "found" yoga about 10 years ago. He was a certified personal trainer at the time but was drawn to the holistic philosophy of hatha yoga and meditation.

He completed his yoga teaching certification in 2001 through the Living Yoga Program in Austin Texas and was teaching classes and working with private clients in Vancouver up until 2008 when he moved to Parksville.

Elisabeth

Elisabeth has an extensive background as a distance runner, cyclist, tri-athlete and dancer, plus a diploma in Exercise Management from S.F.U.

Elisabeth has practiced a number of yoga methods; Bikram’s, Iyengar Ashtanga and Baptiste Power Yoga. Her passion and commitment to yoga and her belief in its power to transform is evident in every class that she teaches.

Bonnie

Bonnie received her Hot Yoga Teacher Certification at Absolute Yoga in Koh Samui, Thailand. She also runs a business as a Registered Massage Therapist specializing in Myofascial Release, is a Reiki Master and a Certified Raw Food Chef.

Her other interests and passions include dance, meditation, music, energy work, and all spectrums of personal growth and living joyfully!

Shylo

After trying her first yoga class, Shylo knew that it was to become an integral part of her life. Since her training in 2003, she has studied with various teachers throughout Alberta and BC.

Shylo is also a registered Jin Shin Do Acupressurist and teacher. Her passion is in helping people to find deeper connection with themselves.

Krisanna

Krisanna has been a counsellor in Oceanside for 26 years. She developed her passion for yoga as a result of needing to find a way to deal with a painful back and very inflexible, older body.

She discovered how these conditions (and more!) could be reversed with regular hot yoga practice. Now she delights in teaching a hot yoga series, stretch class and restorative yoga at HCYC from May to October, when she is not residing in California.

Sam R

Sam joined the club in 2008 and was soon welcomed as part of the HC team. Her artistic abilities are outstanding as shown by HC’s great studio ceiling which was so generously donated by Sam.

Her talents are as varied and as they are outstanding as demonstrated by her flexibility in the studio. Sam fills in as a part-time instructor relieving our regular instructors as they seek further training and teaching opportunities.
